POSITION DESCRIPTION
Supervisor: Director of Housing
Department: Housing
Status: Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
Counsels and aids individuals and families requiring assistance of social services by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process applicant pre-application for public housing or section 8 assistance
- Schedule Applicant interviews
- Organize and maintain applicant waiting list for public housing and section 8
- Review all applicant applications
- Open/Close intake for housing applications
- Screen/process applications for admission
- Purge applicant list
- Perform pre-screen home visits
- Pull families from waiting list for unit offer
- Conduct pre-occupancy leas orientation
- Verify applicant information to determine qualification for admission to housing
- Conduct outreach as needed
- Perform criminal background, credit and landlord checks
- Issue vacancy offers
- Generate monthly reports for Director of Housing
- Update applicants on a routine basis
- Notify applicants of application status
- Perform quality control for Section 8 and public housing
- Other duties may be assigned
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School graduate or equivalent, or two year experience in a position with similar duties. Classroom hours towards a business degree can substitute. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined acceptable by the Executive Director. Training in office machines and business procedures is required.
